When the basement of my house flooded, I lost many records and much memorabilia from all my bands. The objects I salvaged I put in a big box. I stared at them for awhile then decided to send them out into the world to a better place, where they wouldn't be ruined. This is when I began my transition into storing memories, instead of objects.
Jughead's Basement Podcast originally explored different influential records each month. Since the beginning, more than 8 years ago, Writers, Performers, and Musicians have joined me each episode to talk about their own relationship to specific songs on a record and I have strived to interview as many musicians from each band as possible.
A few years ago, I realized the effort to create this level of podcast monthly became difficult to commit the time necessary to make them great. I still try to do at least one of those intense podcasts a year, but I have also begun to experiment with different formats, still always involving punk musicians or performers and friends highly influenced by the aesthetics of punk rock.
Please listen and support.
Thank You,
JOHN JUGHEAD PIERSON
